Classic Companion iOS Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

1. Privacy Model

Classic Companion is designed for focused reading and respects user privacy. Users do not need to create an account to access the included classical works and core reading features.

2. Reading Content and Reading Aids

Classic Companion presents classical texts and supporting reading materials within the application. Features such as pronunciation guidance and contextual word notes are provided to support reading. Users do not need to submit their name, email address, phone number, or other personal contact information to use these reading features.

3. Data Stored on the Device

To provide normal reading and personal content-management features, Classic Companion may store reading progress, reading summaries, reader inspirations, drafts, and related settings locally on the user's device. This information is used for the app's reading, note-taking, and content-management functions.

4. iCloud Synchronization

The Reader Collection feature in Classic Companion supports synchronization through Apple's iCloud service across the user's own Apple devices.

Synced information may include reading summaries, reader inspirations, user-created titles and text, related source information, favorite and sorting information, and creation, modification, deletion, and synchronization state information needed to keep data consistent across devices.

This information is synchronized through Apple's iCloud infrastructure. Classic Companion does not operate a developer-controlled server to receive or store this Reader Collection content. Data handled through iCloud is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.

5. Data Collection, Analytics, and Tracking

Classic Companion currently does not require a user account, use third-party advertising services, use third-party analytics services, or perform cross-app or cross-website tracking. Classic Companion does not sell users' personal information.

Classic Companion does not use IDFA for advertising identification and does not send users' reading content or Reader Collection content to developer-controlled servers for analytics, advertising, or user tracking.

6. User Control

Users can manage or delete Reader Collection content they create using the relevant features provided within Classic Companion.

For Reader Collection data synchronized through iCloud, related changes or deletions are synchronized across the user's devices according to Classic Companion's synchronization mechanism and the availability of Apple's iCloud service. Users can also manage their use of iCloud through the relevant settings provided by their Apple devices and Apple Account.

7. Privacy Policy Updates

If future versions introduce features involving additional data handling, this privacy policy will be updated accordingly. If such changes affect how the app collects or uses data, the developer will also update the relevant privacy disclosures as required.
